British Formula 1 racer and three times F1 champion Lewis Hamilton has made the perfect start of Belgian GP as he won at the second practice session for the Belgian GP which is next in the calendar.
Hamilton became first as Ferrari’s Kimi Raikkonen became second and Valtteri Bottas, Hamilton’s Mercedes team mate became third at the race. Hamilton was 0.262 seconds faster than his nearest opposition Kimi while finishing the race. However, Hamilton’s rival in the standings Sebastian Vettel, who is currently at the top of the points table with 202 points has finished his race becoming 5th and was 0.482 seconds down from Hamilton. Its interesting that Red Bull’s Max Verstappen has beaten Vettel by only 0.01 seconds to stand at the fourth position of the practice session race at the weekend.
The Brit was in a great form all the day. Although he was second at the first session just behind Ferrari’s Kimi Raikkonen by 0.053 seconds. Whatever, here is a twist that Hamilton was racing with the slowest type of tires which is the soft tire, while Raikkonen was racing with the ultra soft tire which is not as slow as Hamilton’s.
Hamilton was the quickest at the earlier phase of the second session even with the soft tires again. He was at a point almost 0.7 seconds quicker than everyone else while Bottas was at the second position racing with the super-soft tires. However, it became a different story afterwards.
On the act of so called races which are said as the practice sessions, Vettel was almost 0.7 seconds ahead of Hamilton in average and almost 0.1 seconds more ahead of than Bottas.
Whatever, Lewis Hamilton said after the races that, the day was indeed a good day. The cars were feeling good and changes in the setup of the cars were made to the right direction.
He also said that he does not think that they are in a bad position even if Ferraris being the quickest of all the cars.
Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel has said that, the cars looked very strong to him and whenever the cars are out in the track they look to have the possibility to go race in a great pace.
He also added that, He was not happy. He did not really find the rhythm especially on the short run. He thinks the long run was better than that. Overall, he thinks that the cars are there to go in a fast pace and the drivers are there to make it all right on the fronts and they just need to do their job and when they are finished doing that, they should be fine.
Whatever, all the racers had to return to the pits because heavy rainfall started with about 25 minutes left of the session.
