Formula 1 racing team Mercedes’ boss Toto Wolf has said that Lewis Hamilton and his new team mate Valtteri Bottas has taken their combination to a whole new level which has exceeded all the expectations till now in 2017.
Team Mercedes had to go through a wrangling three years of relationship between Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg, who is the current title holder of Formula 1. But, However, they dominated those three years as a team in the track.
But, tensions among the team had risen up when Rosberg shockingly announced his retirement from the game just after winning the championship title last year. Whatever, Mercedes was not late to appoin another driver for their team and they appointed Valtteri Bottas from Williams as the second driver of the constructors team Mercedes and the tensions finally went away.
Whatever, team boss Toto Wolf has praised Valtteri Bottas a lot as he has managed to come very close to his fellow teammate three times world champion Lewis Hamilton and said that the Finnish born racer is very strong in the track as he has some good records against the fastest man on the track. He further said that, he thinks that Bottas is performing up to his standard and that is very good and they knew about his qualities when they decided to sign him for Mercedes.
Toto Wolf further added that, for them Bottas is certainly meeting their expectations and he is getting better in every races he is racing for them. It is very nice to see his progressing by every race.
Whatever, he also praised Hamilton that, both of them has significantly improved their relationship and they have started to cooperate with each other on the track. And that is the way they work together and get on with each other.
They respect each other and have a great relationship among themselves on the track and off the track and this thing helps them to get better.
In the British GP at Silverstone, where Lewis Hamilton won the GP, he said at one point that he will take Bottas with him and help him to improve. Such is the respect and understanding between them. This kind of respect between two individual racer even of the same team is rarely seen in this era of professionalism.
Bottas agreed to let Hamilton through ahead of him in the Bahrain GP and also did a swap of position at the Hungary GP where at the final minutes Hamilton again swapped place with Bottas and let Bottas become the third.
Wolf says that, the personal relationship between Bottas and Hamilton is totally different than the type of relationship Nico and Lewis possessed. He also added that the relationship between two racers of the same company is one criteria of how a team will do in a championship, should it be positive or negative for the team as well as the players.
Hamilton and Bottas are currently in the 2nd and 3rd position in the players standings with 188 and 169 points respectively which sees Mercedes at the top of the table with 357 points.
