Pakistan cricket team is now focusing to their next competition against Ireland where the series consists of two One Day International matches ahead of five ODI schedule against England. However, the Green Shirts are desperate to win both ODI series because their fortune of upcoming ICC World Cup 2019 depends on it.
Now, the team Pakistan is standing in 9th position, according to International Cricket Council (ICC) but based on their current ranking, they will have to pass qualifying round to participate in World Cup 2019. If they will able to reach among top seven ranking, then they do not have to play qualifying round. Here is a chance has come to them to improve their rating by winning both ODI series against Irish and English.
On the other side, English team does not have any pressure due to their current ICC One Day International ranking. They are 5th in position and they just need to hold their ranking.
According to the ranking of 30th September, 2017, first seven teams will have got clearance to compete in the main event of ICC World Cup 2019 directly.
So, for this forthcoming series, the Green Shirts does not want to make any mistake and they just want to avoid qualifying matches in 2018. And to ensure of this matter, they will have to win every matches against Ireland and England. If they will success, they they can outrun West Indies and Bangladesh. And if they will fail to do so, they will relegate to Qualifying stage where last four ranked team will compete with the ICC WCL and there six teams from the ICC WCL championship will also join.
On the other hand, if the team Ireland can manage to win both matches against Pakistan, then they will easily pass Afghanistan and Zimbabwe by points. If they win one match, then they will overtake just Zimbabwe and will receive 11th position where they are placed in 12th ranking now.
Now, team Pakistan is depend on their some experienced players named Mohammad Hafeez, Sami Aslam, Sami Aslam who are considered the batting specialist where the bowling side depends on Umar Gul along with Mohammad Amir. Mohammad Amir would be their main weapon with his line and length.
However, Pakistan does not need to take any extra pressure and if they able to play their according to their regular form, they can beat Ireland easily.
The Shaheens have played against the Irish total six times before where they lost their inaugural competition and won four matches. But unfortunately, one match was tied.
