Real Sociedad are in very good form in the La Liga this season. They have been quite consistent to pick up the points from their league fixtures so far. Eusebio Sacristan’s lads have impressed a lot in this ongoing campaign and they’ve proven themselves as a quite good unit and their position in the league table speaks for them.
The Txuriurdins hosted Los Rojillos in a league clash at the Estadio de Anoeta on the Sunday evening and the hosts secured all 3 points from the match although Osasuna fought very hard and gave some serious competitions to their counter part. But nothing could prevent La Reals from achieving a victory.
Considering the forms of the both sides, an easy victory was expected for the home side but the start was quite shocking as the visiting side opened the scoring. Kenan Kodro gave his team the lead, thanks to his second goal of the season. The 23 years old attacker had netted on 6 occasions last season. The assist was provided by Tano. The visitors went to the break with one goal’s advantage.
The hosts were searching for a leveller and they had to wait till the 62nd minute of the game. Finally the Txuriurdins got back to the game as defender Raul Navas put his name on the score sheet and that was not only his maiden goal of the season but also the first ever goal in a Real Sociedad shirt for the 28 years old Spaniard. Mexican star striker of the hosts, Carlos Vela gave his team the lead just 10 minutes later of the first goal and the 27 years old registered his 6th goal of the campaign. Mikel Oyarzabal provided the assist on this occasion. The winning side didn’t have to wait too long for their 3rd goal as forward Juan Miguel increased the lead 5 minutes later to put his team in a comfortable position in the game and the hosts were certainly in the driving seat after that goal. Sergio Leon then scored the 2nd goal for the touring party and it could just minimize the margin of the defeat as the La Reals finished with a 3-2 victory.
Real Sociedad remains in the 5th position in the league table with 38 points and they are breathing behind Atletico’s neck as the Madrid side is just 1 point ahead of their nearest opponents to stay at the 4th position. Osasuna are still at the very last position with just 10 points beside their name.
