Some unforgettable moments happened when Borussia Dortmund squared off with Hoffenheim in a Bundesliga clash at the Rhein Neckar Arena on the Friday night. The match ended 2-2 as both the parties gained one point apiece. The clash produced some big moments which are really unforgettable.
The two teams of the top region of the Bundesliga table met in a mouthwatering battle and a brilliant display of football was on the card for the spectators of the Rhein Neckar Arena. Mark Uth opened the scoring on the third minute of the game from a brilliant through ball of Benjamin Hubner. The 25 years old German didn’t make any mistake and beat Weidenfeller to give the hosts the lead and the fans got a chance to celebrate at the very beginning of the game.
On the 11th minute, Mario Gotze levelled the line after a very good run of Ousmane Dembele. It was the first Bundesliga goal for the German superstar after returning to Dortmund from Bayern. It was also just his 2nd goal in a Dortmund shirt after rejoining with them. He finished with a cool and calm head to level it just 8 minutes after conceding the first goal.
Attack and counter attack continues to be displayed by the both teams and Hoffenheim got the lead again on the 20th minute of the game. Sandro Wagner netted this time as the assist provider was Benjamin Hubner once again.
The biggest moment in the game happened on the 41st minute as the Dortmund superstar and the good boy Marco Reus got his first ever red card in his competitive Dortmund career as he was shown the yellow card for the second time in the game by the referee Benjamin Brand. Reus got the send off means the German giants were forced to play with 10 men for more than 48 minutes. The 27 years old is renowned for his cool personality on the football pitch and saw the first ever red card in his 171st appearance for Dortmund. He illegally tried to stop Nadiem Amiri and had to pay the price for it.
Hoffenheim were unlucky as one of their shot hit the bar and Dortmund’s talisman Pierre Emerick Aubameyang scored on the 48th minute of the game. It was the goal number 100 for Aubameyang in the Dortmund jersey and also his 19th strike of the season. The Gabon international is at the top of his form. Recently he finished 11th in this year’s Ballon d’Or list, the best ranking among the Bundesliga players which is quite incredible.
