Caribbean Premier League which is the largest domestic T20 competition in West Indies also known as CPL T20 has become popular throughout the world. It is regarded as the fifth most popular short form cricket competition after IPL, BBL, Ram Slam and PSL which is officially known as Hero CPL due to the reason of sponsorship. Since the beginning of the tournament Hero MotoCorp is selected as their main sponsor. Almost fourth season of CPL has passed successfully and the fifth edition of the tournament is coming so fast.
This tournament is one of the most expensive tournament after Indian Premier League (IPL) where the organizer used to give a large amount of Prize money. If we consider their last season reward amount, they almost spent more than one million dollars for the purpose of winner, runner-up and other awards.
# CPL T20 2018 Possible Prize Money
- Winner – Jamaica Tallawahs was the winner of the last season of CPL who claimed around US$500,000 to US $600,000. Though, the ultimate amount was yet to be revealed but the amount was almost same.
- Runner Up – Guyana Amazon Warriors was the runner up of the competition and seemed to disappointed but their reward amount was just slightly lower than the winner. They got almost US$450,000 for their brilliant performance in the tournament. Though, according to the pay scale, the winner deserved some more than their current amount but that was the decision of the organizers.
- Other Rewards – Among other rewards, firstly consider about the man of the match award. The organizers spent almost US$1 000 for every match where total 34 matches were placed in last tournament. However, super six matches were awarded almost US$500 per match and in total US$17 000. Besides, there was a reward of highest sixer of the event. Alongside, the 3rd place and 4th place holder both team received almost same rewards US$250 000.
Above rewards amount statistics were in last tournament but in upcoming Caribbean Premier League 2016/17, the reward amount would be increased like before. However, the next season rewards are yet to be revealed. Here we provide the prize money of CPL 2016/17 is listed below.
# Caribbean Premier League T20 2018 Prize Money:
CPL which inaugural tournament was help in 2013 and since then, four season has successfully passed. As like previous season, total six participants will compete in upcoming fifth edition of the largest short form competition in West Indies. The tournament consists of group stage and knockout phase. West Indies Cricket Board is the organizer of the famous competition.
The upcoming season of CPL would probably start in next June, 2018. Though, the complete schedule of the tournament is yet to be announced but would probably thirty four matches would be placed in six different venues. However, in last season, some matches were held in United States due to an agreement with them.
