There is no argument that Messi is one of the great football players of all time. He has won so many personal trophy and many for Barcelona but the biggest overdue of his life is that he did not win any international trophy for Argentina which is the biggest regret of his life. Therefore, this edition of Copa America in 2020 will be a great opportunity for Messi to silverware his glorious career and lots of achievements before his retires.
A former teammate of Messi of Barcelona star had said that there is no stopping him on the pitch and he is overdue national success. In addition, as this Copa America is being hosted by Argentina so this will be a great advantage for Messi to win an International trophy as he is going to get lots of support from his local fans.
Juan Pablo Sorin, ex-Argentina player and national teammate of Lionel Messi Described him as “an alien” and also said that what he did for his country, now they can reward his performance by winning this Copa America 2020 as a silverware gift before he retires.
During the time of 2009, Sorin played for a brief moment with Messi. Therefore, having seen Messi up close and now from afar, Sorin deduced that there is no stopping Messi in his best day and surely he deserves some international trophy to silverware his glorious career for all he has done to rebuild Argentina team.
Sorin also said that “luckily we played together”, he also added that “he (Messi) is an alien, there is no way (to stop him). He also mentioned I have high pride and privilege in having shared his time with Messi in the national team. Sorin also mentioned the spectacular goal Messi scored against Athletico Bilbao in the final of the Copa del Rey.
It is also said by Sorin is that “I think that not only Argentines want it but the fans of the world expect him to also win something big with Argentina.” Sorin adding that Messi’s skills and consistency over the past decade have been nothing short of ‘crazy’.
It is not so easy being Messi as “Knowing and feeling decisive in whatever shirt is a difficult responsibility. But the most difficult thing is maintaining that level of genius and being the best for so many years – it’s a crazy thing!”
