CONMEBOL has established a tradition of inviting teams from outside the South American continent to compete in the Copa America. Last year in 2019 Copa America, there were also two teams that had been invited, which were Japan and Qatar. Before that in 2016, the invited team was the USA. So it is not new for Copa America authority to invite teams to play in this large and famous tournament. This year in 2020 Copa America edition, Australia and Qatar were invited. This is the second involvement of Qatar, having previously played in the 2019 edition, and this is the competition debut for Australia to take part in Copa America. The match between Peru vs Qatar will be held at Estadio Atanasio Girardot, Medellin on 14th June, Sunday in 2020.

Prediction: Peru 2-1 Qatar
The Peru national team enjoyed its most successful periods in the 1930s and the 1970s. The national team’s all-time top goalscorer is Paolo Guerrero, with 38 goals, and its most-capped player is Roberto Palacios, with 128 appearances. Under manager Ricardo Gareca, Peru placed third at the 2015 Copa América, reached the quarterfinals of the Copa América Centenario, participated in the group stage of the 2018 FIFA World Cup finals, and earned second at the 2019 Copa América and this year they also participating. Overall this is a quite balanced team that has few marking players in attack, as well as in the midfield.
On the other hand, Qatar is also a tough team that has been participating in Copa for a couple of times as they are the winner of the Asia Cup and also the reason behind they got invited to play in Copa America 2020. They have few good players in the team that makes it a balanced team but their attacking is quite good with Ismael Mohammed, Ahmed Alaaeldin, Almoez Ali, Mohammed Muntari.
Even though Qatar is a good team and they have a good chance to win the match but in my personal opinion, I think Peru is going to win the match by 2-1.
