The 14th Asia Cup is scheduled to be held in the United Arab Emirates on September 15. The last Asia Cup was held in the United Arab Emirates in 1984 and 1995. In the Six Nations One Day Tournament, Bangladesh have Group ‘B’ The new strength of the opposition Sri Lanka and Afghanistan. Asia Cup current runners-up team Bangladesh is a pole position to grab the title. Though they did not win the trophy in before, they will try their best to bag the trophy this season.
To be considering the tournament the Bangladesh going to start the Primary camp at Mirpur, Dhaka. Tiger’s camp will start on Monday, August 27, with the preliminary team of 31 announced for the upcoming tournament.The players, who were called in the primary squad by 9:00 am, have been asked to appear in Mirpur. The preparatory camp preparations for the primary team will start in the fitness test (BPL Test) under the fitness of national teammate Mario Villavarayan.
Mashrafe-Tamim will be sweating in field practice on 28th, 29th and 30th of August, starting with fitness training. The Tigers will work with the rest of the season on August 31 and September 1, and will work on September 2. Then Bangladesh will practice in the match on September 3. On September 4 and 5, the team will again practice in the match scene on September 6 after spending time through skill training.
After the two-day interval of 7 and 8 September, Bangladesh Cricket team will leave the country for the United Arab Emirates to participate in the Asia Cup on 9th September.
Opener Tamim Iqbal took an hour-long batting practice at the academy ground in Mirpur, Dhaka before his preparations for the Asia Cup began yesterday. The 29-year-old opener has batted for a few days before the Eid. This time he very confident and passionate to grab the title.
Chief selector Minhazul Abedin Nannu said that the players were kept in the team very talented. Since the Asia Cup is outside of the subcontinent, the conditions are a bit different, so there will be a little difference in practice. There is a discussion going on a week before the start of the tournament. In the 31 man squad there have some biggest name like Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, Shakib Al Hasan, Tamim Iqbal, Imrul Kayes, Enamul Haque Bijoy, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mahmudullah Riyadh, Soumya Sarkar, Sabbir Rahman, Saif Uddin, Mostafizur Rahman, Mosaddek Hossain Saikat, Liton Kumar Das, Abu Haider Rony, Nazmul Islam Apu and also many others.
