March 23, 2017 by Robert Lincoln Leave a Comment

PFA Player of the Year award is one of the most attractive personal awards in English football. It is given to the best footballer of the premier league on the basis of their yearly performance. Winning it is a huge honour for any footballer and is a dream for many of them. Leicester City’s Algerian play maker won it on the very last occasion after having written the fairy tale with the Foxes.

The Nominees for the PFA Player of the Year Award are : N’Golo Kante (Chelsea and France), Eden Hazard (Chelsea and Belgium), Zlatan Ibrahimovic (Man Utd and Sweden), Romelu Lukaku (Everton and Belgium), Diego Costa (Chelsea and Spain).

N'Golo Kante

N’Golo Kante : The French international who has joined the Blues from defending champions Leicester City on the latest summer transfer window is on the verge of winning personal 2nd consecutive English Premier League trophy as he won it with the Foxes last season. He is the most hot favourite candidate to bag the prize as he has been outstanding and arguably the best midfielder of the league in this ongoing season as well as in the previous campaign.

Eden Hazard : The Belgium captain will win the league for the 2nd time in the last 3 season, if they finish the remaining undone job this season and which is very much likely. The winger is the heart of the Blues’ attack and is in sublime form. The former Losc Lille footballer is also a heavyweight candidate to win it.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic : The Swedish legend is playing his first ever season in the EPL and having look at his performances and the number of goals for the Red Devils, you will realize that age is just a number. He is currently sitting at the 5th position in the EPL top scorers’ list.

Romelu Lukaku : The Belgian Red Devils’ forward is just 23 and has already done so much to become a legend of Everton. He is the only Evertonian to score 20 or more league goals in a season. He is also only the 4th footballer to bag 80 or more EPL goals before turning 24 and is a strong candidate for the prize. The Marseyside Blues’ talisman is also eligible for the PFA young player of the year prize.

Diego Costa : The Spaniard has been the stand out scorer for the London based club this season and netted 14 times in just 18 games before the year ended. As like Hazard, it will also be his 2nd EPL title in the last 3 years.
