Wayne Rooney the England’s top goal scorer of all time has been welcomed back to the Goodison Park. After his long time staying at the Old Trafford, the United legend has finally left the club. It was no less than 13 years that Wazza was with the Red Devils and is among one of the greatest footballers ever played for the most successful club in the premier league history. He will continue to wear his iconic number 10 shirt for the Marseyside Blues too.

The 31 years old who will turn 32 in the upcoming October has moved to the club of his hometown by signing a contract of 2 years and the contract will also offer an option of further 12 months after the end of the 2 years and after the end of that, the former England captain is expected to hang up his boots. The attacker receives huge good bye pay off from his departing club Man Utd and the amount is as healthy as £10 million. He will get a salary of £160,000 per week at Everton which is just over half of his previous wage fee at the Old Trafford as the forward used to earn £300,000 per week there. Roo’ will also get two staggered £4 million payments from Toffees as the part of the deal.

The top goal scorer for United off all time joined the Red Devils from Everton in 2004 under the legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson and the reverse process is happening now. Rooney played for Everton youth team and also played 2 seasons for the Toffees’ senior team between 2002-2004. Then he moved to the Theater of Dreams and the rest is the history. He sits at the top of highest goal scorers’ list for the Red Devils with record 253 goals wearing the Red shirt. There is no doubt that he is an United legend and the club officials wanted him to leave with dignity and now they believe that they achieved that with this deal.

The Liverpool born striker rejected several offers from China and chose his former club as the best place to join. United fans were sad in this transfer but they bade him good bye and the Marseyside Blues’ fans welcomed him warmly. He is now in club tour with the Toffees and playing pre-season friendly matches. Everton boss Ronald Koeman is very pleased to seal a great player like Wazza. Now he is looking at the likes of Gylfi Sigurdsson and Olivier Giroud.
