Hamilton proved himself as a legend of Formula 1 as he gets fifth British GP

July 19, 2017 By James Lemmy Leave a Comment

Lewis Hamilton has won the British GP for the fifth time in his career and with that record he has been proved as a legend of Formula 1 as this Brit guy has many of the records of Formula 1 under his belt.

This British was in a fine form the last couple of weeks in the first place and Silverstone was in his home and he wanted nothing but a win here. These all have helped him to win the British GP and he has now become one of  the record holders of winning the Bristish GP for the most times. And another amazing thing is that he has won in this circuit for 4th consecutive year now.

The win in British GP on 16 July has seen Lewis Hamilton equaling the record of the consecutive wins at British circuit with Jim Clark which Clark had set between 1962 and 1965, in four consecutive years. And during this he also have leveled his achievements with Clark and Alain Prost to become one of the most successful drivers in the British GP.

Hamilton’s this win has taken him to the 2nd position of the all time Grand Prixes winners’ list. This Brit has won a total of 57 Grand Prixes in his career. He is just behind of the legendary Formula 1 driver Michael Schumacher, who has a total grand prix of 91.

Former racer Max Chilton has said o Lewis Hamilton that he is a pure legend of Formula 1 and he will always be the legend as he has achieved a lot through the sport and has given the sport many things.

Here is a list showing the most Grand Prix winners of the Formula 1 history:

Most Grand Prix wins

Driver Grand Prix wins
Michael Schumacher 91
Lewis Hamilton 57
Alain Prost 51
Sebastian Vettel 45
Ayrton Senna 41
Fernando Alonso 32
Nigel Mansell 31
Jackie Stewart 27
Jim Clark 25
Niki Lauda 25

Max Chilton also said that even if it is now easier to have the record of most Grand prixes because nowadays there are more GPs in any championship, despite of that it is an incredible record. Because one just can’t win so many GPs if he does not holds some potential inside him. And someone has to be a really good racer to win four consecutive grand prixes. He also said that, all know that Lewis Hamilton is a great driver and there is no doubt that he is really fast and it is very joyful thing to see a British driver doing great in Formula 1 championship.

He added that, the British driver was continuously being criticized for not showing himself up in the London and rather taking some days off. But, he has silenced his critics very well by his performance in the Silverstone and that proves he is a real winner. If he could not win here he would be criticized more.

Chilton has said that it is an unimaginable thing to win British GP in four consecutive years and Hamilton has done exactly that and also equaled Jim Clark’s record. That is simply superb.
