Manchester United play maker Henrikh Mkhitaryan has seen the both part of the coin at the very same match when the Red Devils met in an important clash with the Spurs. Jose Mourinho’s side has beaten the in form Tottenham 1-0. The Armenian superstar scored the decisive goal for the hosts.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan got his first ever English Premier League goal on the Sunday afternoon. He sealed the game for the Red Devils on the 29th minute of the game. Spanish midfielder Ander Herrera assisted him. That goal became the decisive one as Harry Kane and his team mates failed to score. This was also Mkhitaryan’s first ever goal at the Old Trafford. Mkhitaryan just got his first Man Utd goal against Zorya on the Wednesday night in UEFA Europa League clash. So the goal against the spurs was just his 2nd in an United jersey.
It was only the 12th appearance of the attacking midfielder for the English giants. After completing a move to the Old Trafford from German Giants Borussia Dortmund in the 2016 summer transfer window the 27 years old was struggling to get back to his best. The £26.3 million signing was sidelined for a while by his manager. But the industrious footballer impressed soon, earned his place back & started showing his class. Both the manager and the fans were happy with his recent performances.
Just when everything was going right for the former Shakhtar Donetsk footballer, the witless injury happened. Tottenham’s English defender Danny Rose hacked him down ruthlessly and the in form creative midfielder had to leave the field on a stretcher. He left the pitch on the 85th minute and Eric Bailly replaced him. The injury won’t keep him out for a long term though. The 27 years old is set to miss the next two games for United. But Special One Jose Mourinho is hopeful that the star performer will back in time to face Sunderland in a boxing day clash at home. It is a good news for the United fans.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan will be unavailable for his manager for the next 2 premier league games against Crystal Palace and West Bromwich Albion. So he will not be the part of the two successive trips to the Selhurst Park and to the Hawthorns as United will play away to the Eagles and the Baggies on December 14 & December 17 respectively.
