English premier league kicked off in this new year on the Tuesday lunch time. Fans had the taste of this beautiful game in for the first time in the 2017 when match week 20 of the English premier league kicked off. Some big news came under the lime light and Zlatan’s offside goal was one of those big news.
The Red Devils sealed their very first victory of the 2017 when they met West Ham United in an important league clash. The two teams squared off at the London Olympic Stadium on the Tuesday afternoon. The visitors claimed a 2-0 victory.
The match was a horrible one for the match officials as some wrong decisions have seen them coming under huge criticism. West Ham’s 27 years old Algerian footballer Sofiane Feghouli was shown a red card by the referee Mike Dean just on the 15th minute of the game, with more than 75 minutes remaining in the watch. The host had to play with 10 men for more than 1 hour. The Algerian was shown the red because of a challenge on the United defender Phil Jones but video footage showed that the United Centre half appeared to go in just as hard on the 27 years old midfielder.
Juan Mata opened the scoring for the visitors on the 63rd minute of the game. Marcus Rashford provided the assist and the Spaniard scored from a close distance with his left foot to beat the home side goal stopper. United’s Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic sealed the game on the 78th minute but replay shows that Zlatan, Paul Pogba and Juan Mata all 3 United guns were on the offside position when Ander Herrera provided the pass. Somehow the linesman missed that and an awkward error occurred. West Ham players were disappointed with the decisions but luck didn’t go their way.
West Ham manager Slaven Bilic mocked and criticized the match officials for both the decisions those went against them. The two vital decisions had some serious impacts on the game but the visitors won’t mind that as they have secured their 6th premier league victory in a row. They are also unbeaten in their last 13 competitive games in all competitions. Last time Mourinho’s side lost a game was back in the first week of the November when they were defeated by the Turkish club Fenarbache in an UEFA Europa League clash. United are currently at the 6th position in the league table with 39 points from the first 20 league games.
