Pakistan is now moved to the top in test ranking which is the first time for the Green Shirts after ranking system updated in 2003. It is a great achievement for Pakistan which has come after many calculation. They were in number third when they started their journey to England and there they played four test matches and shown amazing performances. The series was drawn by 2 – 2 games which will help them to move to the 2nd position along with Australia was defeated by Sri Lanka which was actually whitewashed and so team Australia has lost the top position and India claimed it and Pakistan became second.
It happened just couple of days ago when team India moved to the top but they failed to hold it for long time. Yesterday, ICC revealed a update test ranking where Pakistan has jumped to the top and India has demoted to the second position. Indian team lost their top position because they have failed to win their last test against West Indies due where the match was abandoned due to rain. Though, India won the test series by 2 – 0 but also lost their top status.
On the other hand, team Pakistan has reached the top position in Test for the first time since the ICC ranking was renewed in 2003. And also most of the credit goes to their current test skipper Misbah ul Haq where he led this team to victory in England.
However, after the test series against England, an obvious question raise that, is this the end of Misbah ul Haq but this legendary captain has rejected that possibility about his retirement and disclose this matter in front of media that he has a plan to play till fifty years and which will be a great decision, thinks by former English captain Nasser Hussain.
The Green Shirts started their journey to the top since 2014 when the defeated Sri Lanka by 2 – 1 and later in November, 2015, they defeated England by 2 – 0 in United Arab Emirates. Then , they reached to the 2nd position for the first time. And now, at last they reached at the top which actually they deserved according to their continuing success. Leader of this achievement, Misbah is very proud to gain this achievement and he wants to keep continue the ranking.
Chairman of PCB Shaharyar Khan along with former Pakistani superstar Waqar have given all credit to Misbah due to his amazing leading capacity.
Since the January, 2016, top position is changing dramatically where India took that place fron South Africa in january and in February, Australia jumped to the top and now, Pakistan. Let’s see how much time Pakistan will able to keep it.
