WWE Capitol Punishment 2019: Live streaming, TV Channels, Time, Date

February 17, 2019 By Robert Lincoln

Capitol Punishment was a professional wrestling pay-per-view event produced by the World Wrestling Entertainment. The show was scheduled to occupy the June slot of WWE PPV event scheme in 2011. The show made it’s debut on June 19, 2011 by replacing Fatal 4-Way and was hosted by the Verizon Center of Washington D.C. Almost ten thousands fans attended the venue to watch the show live and the event also received a mammoth 170,000 PPV buys. But somehow the inaugural edition of the show became the only and also the very last one in it’s history as the authority decided to not to arrange the show on any further occasion. The show was replaced by the returning “WWE No Way Out” in 2012 and then in 2013 with “WWE Payback”. “Capital” by Jim Johnston was selected as the theme song of the show. Meanwhile the promotional picture featured Mexican super star Rey Mysterio, Face of the WWE “The Champ” John Cena along with the thenceforth US president Barack Obama in front of the White House.

The event kicked off with a tag team match which featured Santino Marella, Vladimir Kozlov who squared off with Heath Slater and Justin Gabriel. The European duo had the last laugh in the event opener against their counterparts. The next match was contested for the WWE United States Championship title and Dolph Ziggler defeated Kofi Kingston to achieve the title. In the 3rd match of the night, Alex Riley took on The Miz and got his revenge by defeating his old mate. In the very next match, the Knock Out Punch master Big Show was defeated by Alberto Del Rio. Then the Intercontinental Championship match was played between Ezekiel Jackson & Wade Barrett and the aforesaid wrestler beat his opponent to win the title. The likes of CM Punk and Evan Bourne also got their desired victory in the heart of the Verizon Center on that night. Randy Orton and John Cena both once again successfully defended their World Heavyweight Championship title and WWE Championship title consecutively against Christian and R-Truth. The main event of the program lasted for 14 minutes 45 seconds. The show was probably a bit disappointing one for the diva lovers as it didn’t feature any Divas’ match.
