Cyber Sunday was a professional wrestling pay-per-view event produced by the World Wrestling Entertainment. The event was debuted in October, 2004. But for the very first two editions, the show was actually known as Taboo Tuesday. On those occasions the program was scheduled on Tuesdays and also exclusive to the Raw brand. But since 2006, the event was moved to the Sundays and renamed as the Cyber Sunday. The show used to occupy the late October or early November slot of the WWE PPV events schedule. The show was held only 5 times and the 2008 edition was the very last in the history of this show as the WWE authority decided to replace the show with WWE Bragging Rights in 2009.
As it has been mentioned earlier the inaugural edition of the 2004 was hosted by the Bradley Center. 3,500 fans attended the Milwaukee based venue to watch the show live and it received 174,000 PPV buys. In the main event of the night, Randy Orton defeated Ric Flair in a Steel Cage match. The second edition took place on November 1, 2005 at the iPayOne Center. On this occasion 6 thousands fans visited the San Diego based venue and the amount of received PPV buys was the very same. The ain event of the show featured John Cena, Kurt Angle and Shawn Michaels who battled out in a Triple Threat match for the WWE Championship. But in the next edition in 2006 the name of the show was changed as the show moved to the Sundays. The U.S. Bank Arena of Cincinnati hosted the 3rd edition of the show. 7 thousands fans watched the show live and the main event of the show was an absolute thriller. King Booker faced WWE John Cena and ECW champion Big Show as the trio battled in a “Champion of Champions” Triple Threat match for the World Heavyweight Championship. The latest two editions were hosted by the Verizon Center of Washington D.C. and US Airways Center of Phoenix, Arizona respectively. On both occasions, the World Heavyweight Championship title match was contested.
