WWE Evolution is a women’s professional wrestling pay-per-view event (PPV) and WWE Network event. It was produced by WWE for the Raw, SmackDown, NXT and NXT UK brands. The Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale, New York hosted the event on October 28, 2018. It has become the first ever WWE PPV which didn’t feature any men’s game as it was consisted solely of women’s matches. The main card consisted of 7 matches. Among four women’s championships, 3 were defended on the main card as the fourth one was defended in a dark match before the show, which wasn’t televised.
Earlier in the 4th week of July, during an episode of the Monday night Raw, Stephanie McMahon announced about the newest PPV and confirmed that the event would only be consisted of the women’s matches. Hall of Famers Lita, Trish Stratus and Beth Phoenix were advertised as taking part in the event. During the announcement it was also confirmed that, all the 4 WWE women’s championship matches as well as the finals of the WWE Mae Young Classic will be hosted by that event. The program created a great opportunity for the viewers to watch the likes of Trish Stratus and Lita getting back into the action, which they just couldn’t miss.
