“One Night Stand” was a professional wrestling pay-per-view event produced by the WWE. The show made it’s debut in 2005 and was arranged 4 times by the World Wrestling Entertainment authority. Among the 4 editions, the first two shows were promoted under the ECW acronym but it was changed for the next 2 events. The characteristics of this show was hardcore wrestling. Each One Night Stand event has been held in the indoor arena and all of them were inside United States of America. The show used to occupy the June slot of the WWE PPV events schedule and all the 4 editions were held in June. The very last edition of the show took place in 2008 and the very next year it was renamed to Extreme Rules.

Hammerstein Ballroom got the privilege to host the event a maximum of 2 times as the New York based venue hosted the inaugural as well as the 2nd edition of the program. In the main event of the inaugural edition, The Dudley Boyz (Bubba Ray Dudley and R-Von Dudley) faced Tommy Dreamer and The Sandman and the aforesaid side prevailed over their counterparts. A total of 2500 spectators went to watch the show live. The very next year, a slight decreasing occured in the total number of the attendants and the main event featured John Cena and Rob Van Dam as the duo squared off each other in an Extreme Rules match for the WWE Championship. Once again the main event featured The Champ John Cena, who took on the Great Khali in a Pinfalls Count Anywhere match for the WWE Championship. San Diego Sports Arena of California hosted the very last edition of the show. On this occasion the main event was contested between Edge and The Undertaker, as the duo battled for the vacant World Heavyweight Championship and finally the spear master defeated the Phenomenon.
